Device suitable for high-power ultrasound EMAT probes

The PowerBox H is the first portable, battery-operated pulse capable of delivering up to 1200 volts (8 kW) up to 100 Hz repetition rates. The unit is fully self contained with its visualization of the signal and incorporates an analog / digital converter of high quality alloy with a broadband amplifier. This allows it to cover many applications such as for defects, thickness measurement and characterization of materials or measurement of propagation speeds. The transmitter can be set to conventional pulse type "Spike" or wave train "Tone Burst" for frequencies from 100 kHz to 6 MHz. This can be useful to generate many types of waves such as ultrasound guided wave or transmission / reception separated. The apparatus also has a connector for a thermocouple to perform thickness measurements at temperatures up to 600 ° C and to automatically correct the measured thickness of the variation in function of the temperature measured speeds. The device also features encoder input to perform such BScan or encoded thicknesses of profiles.

This unit can be used as a conventional ultrasound device or used with any EMAT probes-the technology used for these probes (magnetostrictive or Lorentz Forces). We can offer a wide range of EMAT probes depending on your application (transverse waves SV transverse waves SH, guided waves, longitudinal waves). There are also special probes for dedicated applications such as the measurement of stress using dual wave probes OL / OT.

The PowerBox H has functions dedicated to the use of EMAT probes such as the ability to trigger an electromagnet using a custom time diagram, custom filters using integrated DSP and viewing the transfer functions, all these features are unique and are an important innovation in the field of portable ultrasound devices.

Information can be presented as Scan, BScan, CsCAN and Stripchart. All settings and all data can be stored and transmitted to a computer using the available I / O (USB, Ethernet, VGA output).
